Back in her shock jock days, Wendy Williams use to give her listeners all of  the hottest tea when it came to celeb gossip. Unfortunately,  the tables  quickly turned on her in 2008 when her radio show’s producer accused her husband Kevin Hunter of  sexual assault which resulted in lawsuits and Wendy being the subject of online gossip daily.  Around the same time, screen caps  from a sex tape featuring a man that looked strikingly similar to Kevin where  emailed to blogs from her email account  and quickly circulated the internet.

Since then, the lawsuit has been settled and swept under the rug and Wendy  has gone on to do big things like launching her own television show and pulling  a few endorsement deals.  She recently stopped by Bay Area Radio Station Wild 94.9 to talk about the upgrades  to her show this season (which will be  filmed in a new studio and will now feature a panel of experts during ‘Hot  Topics’) and things got real awkward, real fast when she was asked about that  sex tape. Before she could answer, her hubby quickly stepped in and said ‘No’ and the interview seemed as though it was  about to be killed on spot. [Kevin is kind of scary...].  Wendy  responded:

“If there was any of the above, we wouldn’t be sitting here right now. No,  absolutely not. People will always, for the rest of my life, throw darts at my  situation. They will throw — and we explained this  to our son — they will throw them at him, they’ve thrown them at me in all of my career, my husband. He know what he was  getting involved with, but it takes a special kind of man to be with a ‘Wendy  Williams.’”

Wendy also spoke on her rise to fame without having to use the ‘casting couch’ during the interview and hinted that things  are better between her and Diddy. [In one of her books, she alleged that he had  her fired from Hot 97 back in the day and tried to ruin  her.]

“Yes it was very hard and I never had to do the casting couch and I say that  with pride. I know that women get ahead in many ways in this world particularly  in entertainment where if you’ve just got a pair of legs and a pair of boobs,  all of a sudden the casting couch is available. It’s not about being the hottest  or whatever, it’s about being a willing participant and wanting something that  men will dangle a carrot in front of. For me, I wanted to be Wendy on the radio,  I didn’t want to be some guy’s sidekick. All due respect to sidekicks, my  personality a little too strong to be sitting up under some man’s  foot.

I’m over it. I’m over it in a good way and he’s also over it. We’ve seen each  other socially and that may be something you see this season on the show.  Sometimes you need absolute growth and supreme peace in your own life and make  peace with people that you didn’t even want to be in the same room with.   That’s where I am right now.
